There is no greater accomplishment than to educate a human being, and when that human being is your little one there is no greater reward than to know you have done a good job and and have raised a well rounded, responsible, sensitive, happy person who will do his/her best to make this world a better one.
As a new mother of a little Boy I often wonder what are the basic things that I would like my prince to learn and take from me, what I would like to see in him as he grows up and I came across an article that I will copy-cat here to remind me of at least 15 of them:
- The kitchen? Not just for girls. Learn to use a stove.
- If a girl tries to change you she doesn’t really love you no matter how much you want her to. However, adapting and modifying your behavior is part of the every-day compromises in a relationship.
- Shower daily, keep your nails trim and use deodorant.
- A dutch oven (or any kind of over for that matter) is never funny. EVER!!! (this applies to fireworks too, no matter what)
- It is NEVER acceptable to break up with a girl over the phone. Respect women and treat them good.
- Understand how to use basic tools,
- When you ask a girl, “Is something wrong?” and she says, “No.” She’s lying.
- The job of a stay-at-home mom is EQUALLY as hard as yours.
- Table manners: Use them!
- You will never know a stronger pull than that of your friends trying to get you to participate in their wrong doing. Resisting makes you a man. Succumbing makes you a coward.
- NEVER use your fists to solve ANY dispute. One wrong punch could take a life and it could be YOURS.
- Condoms will save your life.
- NEVER use the word gay or black in a derogatory manner. It’s ignorant.
- Sexting is a federal offense.
- Real girls do not look like Victoria’s Secret models. Nor should they.
